Baylee has been interviewed for JustJared.com !

Brian Littrell and his wife Leighanne pose with their son Baylee Littrell at the opening night of the musical Disaster! on Broadway on Tuesday (March 8) in New York City.

The 13-year-old son of the Backstreet Boys singer is making his Broadway debut in the musical playing the dual roles of twins Ben and Lisa. The show takes place on a cruise ship casino on the evening of a major disaster in the Big Apple and spoofs classic disaster movies while using a catalogue of ’70s music.

“Ben and Lisa are identical twins and have very different personalities,” Baylee told JustJared.com in an exclusive interview. “Lisa is bubbly and bright, and is definitely the singer out of the two, but she doesn’t know a lot about the world. Ben can be more helpful than Lisa, but he’s not as outgoing as her.”

Baylee also opened up to us about what it was like growing up in the entertainment industry as Brian‘s son and how his parents inspired him to become a performer.

Just Jared: Has Broadway always been something you have dreamed of doing?

Baylee Littrell: It has always my goal to be an actor and performer, but I never expected to make my Broadway debut at 13!

JJ: What is it like working with some of the biggest Broadway legends?

BL: It is a lot of fun to work with all these talented actors. They make it a family environment and I have learned a lot along the way. Roger Bart is like an uncle to me.

JJ: What can you tell us about your Ben/Lisa character?

BL: Ben and Lisa are identical twins and have very different personalities. Lisa is bubbly and bright, and is definitely the singer out of the two, but she doesn’t know a lot about the world. Ben can be more helpful than Lisa, but he’s not as outgoing as her.

JJ: Is it hard to do eight shows a week?

BL: Yes, but it is the best thing I’ve ever done in my life.

JJ: How do you balance school? How do you unwind after a show?

BL: I am home-schooled and complete my studies before performances and in between rehearsals. Maria, my teacher, makes it really fun! After a show, I sit and have a moment of silence in my dressing room. Then, I like to go home and spend time with my family and my puppies. Sometimes, I meditate.

JJ: Do you want to continue doing Broadway in the future? Any dream roles? What else would you like to pursue?

BL: Yes, I would like to continue doing Broadway. I would love to be in Phantom of the Opera. I would also love to go out for comedic musicals again. My dream job would be to be in a Star Wars movie. To me, once you’re in a Star Wars movie, you’re considered one of the greats. My goal is to be respected in the industry like my dad, one day.

JJ: Did your dad inspire you to be a performer? At what age?

BL: My mom and my dad both inspired me to be a performer. I first was inspired to be a performer when I was six, that is when I started going to summer camps at my local acting school, RISPA (Alpharetta, Georgia).

JJ: What kind of career or life advice have your parents given you?

BL: You can be whatever you want to be, and we’ll be with you every step of the way.

JJ: What is one thing about your dad that his fans wouldn’t know?

BL: My dad also loves musical theatre, and did musicals in high school. He played Roger in Grease.

JJ: What is your favorite Backstreet Boys song?

BL: “Larger than Life.”
