R.I.P. Johnny “Q” Elgani

Q and I grew up together and experienced a lot through the years. I have been able to watch his boys grown into men and was always proud of the father he was. I loved him like a brother. My family and I are devastated. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family. ‪#‎ripq‬

We have some unbelievably sad, and unexpected, news to share with you all. Our dear friend, Johnny “Q” Elgani, passed away early this morning in Orlando. We are deeply saddened by this news, and are still unable to process that this is even happening.

Q is a huge part of what the Backstreet Boys are today, and has been a part of our team for a very long time. We would not be where we are now if he wasn’t in our lives. He has kept us safe as we traveled the world, which is something that we are eternally grateful for. We couldn’t imagine where we would be without him.

Most importantly though, Q was just an incredible person. He was always a pleasure to be around, and had some sort of magical ability to turn the most stressful situations into something fun. He treated every single person he met with respect and care, and we’re so thankful for his friendship.

He would definitely want you all to know how much he loved and cared about all of you BSB fans too. What can we say…he had as much fun hanging out with you all at our soundcheck parties and meet & greets as we do! We know that a lot of you got to know Q over the years as well, and were able to befriend the amazing guy that we know and love.

Many of you all may know Angela, Q’s wonderful and loving wife. We can’t even imagine what she’s going through right now, especially considering that she’s currently 5 months pregnant. All of us want to do something really special to help her through this incredibly tough time in her life, so please keep checking BackstreetBoys.com, because we’re going to be putting something together soon for her and Q.

We’re already seeing an overwhelming amount of love and support from all of our incredible fans, and we want you to know that Q’s family and friends really appreciate all of the kind words. If you have any fun Q photos or memories, please tweet them with #HeyItsQ. We want to put them all together to share them with his loved ones 🙂

Thanks again for all of your support and love during a tough time like this. We love you.

– AJ, Brian, Howie, Kevin, and Nick

The Backstreet Boys Are Heading To Washington For Christmas Performance

Looks like the Backstreet Boys are dreaming of a white Christmas. Kevin, Nick, AJ, Brian, and Howie D are said to be gearing up for a holiday performance in Washington. This isn’t just any performance; the boys are planning to head to the nation’s capital for a very special performance at Christmas.

The Backstreet Boys aren’t the only vocalists who will perform at Christmas in Washington. Recording artist Sheryl Crow will perform, as well as Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick, who had a huge Billboard hit with her single “Cups.” Aside from Kendrick and Crowe, Janelle Monae and Pat Monahan are also scheduled to perform.

The special will be hosted by everyone’s favorite song and dance man, Hugh Jackman. This marks the 32nd anniversary of the concert. Since it’s in Washington, you can bet a few popular faces will be in attendance to bring in the holiday season with the Backstreet Boys. It’s believed that president Barack Obama and the first lady, Michelle Obama, will be present for the taping.

The performance by the Backstreet Boys as well as other artists is set to take place at the National Building Museum on December 15. The special is then scheduled to air at 8 pm ET/PT on December 20 on TNT. This is right on target for the holiday season.

In addition, former NBA pro baller and Hall of Famer Charles Barkley will be in attendance, and is set to make an appearance with the Backstreet Boys. These days, Barkley is a sports analyst for TNT’s Inside the NBA.

The special with the Backstreet Boys, Sheryl Crow, Anna Kendrick, Janelle Monae, and Pat Monahan is about capturing the spirit of Christmas, which means it’s all about giving back to those who are less fortunate than others. The special is said to benefit the Children’s National Health System.

Are you excited to see the Backstreet Boys doing what they do best by performing and giving back?
